Vulpiano Records

Marilyn Roxie

Vulpiano Records was launched in November 2009 by synth musician Marilyn Roxie, initially as a place to house great unsigned and independent artists they had come in contact with through networking in the music blogosphere. The concept behind Vulpiano is simple: to offer quality free music. Genres we specialize in are ambient, electronic, and acoustic. All artists are linked by their spirit of independence and experimentation. We hope you enjoy and share the music. Are you a music blogger, podcaster, or film-maker looking to feature a Vulpiano track in your content non-commercially? You can utilize any of the tracks in the Vulpiano library free for streaming or download as long as you credit the artist!

Natural Snow Buildings -  The Night Country  (VULP-0054) Originally self-released and super-limited in quantity on CD, this is the official, Vulpiano Records digital release of Natural Snow Buildings’  The Night Country.  Available in FLAC or 320 kbps MP3 and includes art from the cover and insert.  The Night Country  has been one of my personal favorite recent Natural Snow Buildings releases so I am very pleased Mehdi and Solange have made it available through Vulpiano. "No Light...

About release: I think, while working on this release I’ve finally approached the line beyond which my own role in the process of creation is minimized. During two working months the overall concept was changed so many times, that I’ve finally realized there’s no need for it. Sometimes the material seemed to evolve separately, on its own, leaving me only a mechanical work to record what was happening. About project: North hive is an electro-acoustic project established on May 2012 in...

Aseptic Void - Carnal (VULP-0045) is out now. Italian multi-instrumentalist Davide T, known here as Aseptic Void, has followed up their previous Vulpiano Records EP Alone with an impressive continuation of dark themes and masterful use of static, haunting spaces in their music, including silence. "The theme of the album is the flesh and abominations of the concepts of limit. A black hole of anti-identity in which to get pleasantly lost. The truth of the flesh is multifaceted."

North Hive - Immersion (VULP-0051) Immersion is a beautiful little album. It unravels slowly in its title track opener with sounds recalling nature, looping and enveloping, repetition morphing into change, and — later — voices. Spring-like and peaceful. "Immersion" fades into the meditative "Hyperborea", rippling waves of sound carrying the listener onward (and is that kittens I hear?). "Satellite" seems to depart from earth, off into space, more whirring and...

Enrico Falbo - Tranceformer (VULP-0092) Following up from Enrico Falbo’s beautiful single and debut for Vulpiano Records last year,  Il Giorno del Richiamo Estatico , comes  Tranceformer , an hour-long swirling, galactic epic. Every track is intense and full to the brim with mystical energy and exquisite musical craftsmanship. The album is both available as a continuous track as well as separated into individual mp3s.

Aseptic Void's Alone (EP) (VULP-0042) is out now on Vulpiano Records. This haunting EP comes from Italian multi-instrumentalist Davide T, who has also performed the soundtrack for video game Slender's Woods (http://www.indiedb.com/games/slenders-woods); it is worth noting that two of the tracks from the EP come from the aforementioned soundtrack ("Lullaby" and "Incubazione"). About Alone from Sounds Behind the Corner (http://www.soundsbehindthecorner.org/): "The dark...

Bisamråtta’s latest Vulpiano release is the two track Försiktigt/Manetar EP, following up on  Bisamråtta  (2013) and  their first solo EP  (2012). “Försiktigt” is beautiful and ghostly, a William Basinski-esque loop and spiral - 21 minutes of blissful oblivion. “Manetar” is more peaceful and compact, evoking a sensation of traveling while sitting still.

Bisamråtta's self-titled LP (VULP-0048) follows up his  solo EP released last year on Vulpiano Records . Bisamråtta (Vlad Luchansky, Russia) has a style that is subtle and sweet in the ambient caresses and static that travel in and out of your ear while listening...Some songs are more floating and difficult to grasp, though no less pleasing, than others: for example, the transition between the pleasantly drifting opener "Lunga Blockera" and the more rhythmically driven "Hud...

Golden Grey - Awaken the Wolf (VULP-0077) I am pleased to present this exciting new instrumental electronic release on Vulpiano,  Awaken the Wolf  by Golden Grey. Falling at times somewhere between C418's Minecraft soundtrack and Ratatat’s  LP3,  and at others somewhere off in outer space, the release is introspective, calming, and a little mysterious. Bio and Background Information: Golden Grey is an electronic journey through soft bells and glitchy rhythms conveying an outcome of...

Vulpiano Records release VULP-0006, Vito Genovese - Dead Ends and Fire Extinguishers! Known primarily for a slew of electronic releases on Rate Your Music, Vito has recently put out what is surely his best album yet, blending harrowing lo-fi electronic elements with chugging white noise like steam, and more modern ambient-electronic pieces like Rainy Bus Stop Afternoon and Warehouse Blues. Recommended for any fan of ambient/electronic and video game soundtracks.

Hanetration's Torn Heat EP (VULP-0041) full of delightfully gauzy textures - dreamlike and at times sinister. Based in London, UK, Hanetration has crafted a work of interest to glitch, drone, and ambient fans alike with this EP. Torn Heat EP is a strong follow-up to Tenth Oar EP (self-released earlier this year), including four tracks that thematically build off of one another, from the minimal, yet adventurously engaging "Jurassic" to the closer "Flicker", functioning as a...

Abishai - Various Extras (VULP-0091) Abishai's Various Extras  is the successor to the artist's self-released Various Successes and Failures on Bandcamp  and his debut on Vulpiano Records. As with Successes and Failures , Various Extras  is an instrumental adventure through a kaleidoscope of genres, including ambient, industrial, noise, and drone. Haunting, insistent, droning music for rainy days. Blurring the line between noise and melody, this is Mutestare's first release on Vulpiano Records. A note about the album from Mutestare: "Don’t run; don’t avoid; confort does not equal solace; eyes all around your head, mouth as an exponent of a higher truth. All will be good, no aliens.“  Album art by Marilyn Roxie

Ricky Lynn's first Vulpiano Records release, VULP-0012, is the single Loops with b-side Lost, two experimental electronic pieces. Loops begins as ambient, spinning into otherworldly and glitchy elements over time. Lost floats along in its icy, sparkly way to the end, bringing the single to a peaceful conclusion.

Fathom  marks the debut of Murmurous on Vulpiano Records with this special Netlabel Day 2017 release. An apt title, this 20 minute track reaches to the depths and dredges up meditative, swirling drones unraveling until the end. More information from Murmurous...: The desire for alienation and detachment from the real world is the main focus of the Dutch drone project Murmurous. Modus operandi: to position abstract, lo-fi  and distorted sonorities within a flowing, breathing drone texture. The...

Following up from Brevyn's 'Liquid Sunlight' comes another delightfully aquatic instrumental release, 'Ocean Flower'.  From Brevyn:  Ocean Flower was made around July to August of 2018. Obviously, Liquid Sunlight had come out only a month before then, but I made most of that album in mid-2017 so it had been awhile since I last approached that sound. This creative itch was quick to spark up again, though, since I’d already found a whole new set of new age favorites during the period. I also...

Lately Kind of Yeah -  The Lost Adventures of Vexx  (VULP-0132) Vulpiano Records is proud to kick-off a series of releases from  Lately Kind of Yeah’s  archives with the EP  The Lost Adventures of Vexx .
